His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus' extended condolences to Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and Mr Masoud Pezeshkian, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, following the explosion at the port of the Iranian city of Bandar Abbas that had caused heavy casualties.

Your Excellency, dear Mr President,
It grieved my heart to learn of the explosion at the port of the Iranian city of Bandar Abbas, which had killed and inflicted suffering on great many people.
In these tragic days I express my sincere condolences to all Iranian people and ask to convey my words of consolation and support to the families of the victims, and my wishes of speedy recovery to the injured.
