On April 24, 2025, Archbishop Axy of Lyubertsy and Hieromonk Stefan (Igumnov), Secretary for Inter-Christian affairs of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, participated in memorial events dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, held at the cathedral complex of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Moscow.
Archbishop Ezras (Nersisyan), Primate of the Russian and New Nakhichevan Diocese, celebrated a requiem service in honor of the Armenian martyrs at the Cathedral of the Transfiguration, concelebrated by the diocesan clergy. Following the service, numerous guests—including representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church, other Christian denominations, diplomatic envoys from various countries, and public figures—laid flowers at the memorial to the victims of the genocide. Afterwards, the "Tapan" museum complex hosted the opening of a commemorative exhibition and a symphonic concert dedicated to the anniversary.
On April 24, the Armenian Apostolic Church honors the memory of over 1.5 million Armenians killed in the Ottoman Empire in the early 20th century as a result of ethnic cleansing policies. In 2015, the victims of these events were canonized as saints.
